Airline Etiquette: Feet

In many cultures your feet, socks, and shoes are considered unclean. You collect dirt while walking outside. You step in various liquids in the toilet. Your feet sweat and stink from being confined in shoes all day.

Thinking about this it is easy to understand why no one wants your feet next to them. No one wants to look at your feet. No one wants to touch your feet or have your feet touch them. No one wants to smell your feet.

If you didn’t already know this, on an airplane it is not acceptable to put your feet on the armrest. You can’t put your feet on the wall. Don’t sit in a way that forces someone to have to touch your feet. The only acceptable place for feet is on the floor.
